Trayce Jackson-Davis’ first season in the NBA was a rousing success. After being selected 57th by Golden State in the 2023 NBA Draft, TJD averaged 7.9 points (on 70.2% shooting), 5.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 blocks per game as a rookie.  All of that production came in just 16.6 minutes per contest.  Jackson-Davis became a starter for the Warriors during the last quarter of the season. Via release, IU head coach Mike Woodson announced the addition of transfer Kanaan Carlyle to the Indiana men’s basketball program on Wednesday. Carlyle, an All-Pac-12 Freshman Team performer, joins Indiana after one season at Stanford. The 6-3 guard averaged 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game and shot 32.0% (32-of-100) from the 3-point line during his lone season with the Cardinal. The Atlanta native scored double figures in 15 games of his 23 games played and reached 20-plus points in three outings. Via a Tuesday afternoon release, IU head coach Mike Woodson announced the addition of transfer Myles Rice to the Indiana men’s basketball program on Tuesday. Rice, a 2024 Kyle Macy National Freshman All-America Team honoree, arrives at Indiana after three seasons at Washington State. The 6-3, 180-pound guard averaged 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while leading the Cougars to the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth in 16 years. Indiana has been better than its rival for more than a half decade.  And the margins haven’t been particularly close. For the fifth straight year, IU Athletics can claim overall superiority over Purdue. Indiana holds an insurmountable 11-to-5 edge over the Boilermakers in the annual Governor’s Cup competition with just four points left to be determined through the end of the 2023-24 academic year. Watch as IU football offensive tackle Trey Wedig met with the media this week. Wedig transferred from Wisconsin to IU in December. A graduate transfer, the 6-foot-7 and 318-pound Wedig has one year of eligibility remaining. Wedig played in 34 games with eight starts during his time in Madison. All of his starts came during the 2022 season. Wedig played in a rotation at guard off the bench in 2023 under new head coach Luke Fickell. Watch as IU football defensive lineman Mikail Kamara met with the media this week. Kamara transferred from James Madison where he was a disruptive force on the edge in 2023, with 17.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, five QB hits, and three forced fumbles. He was second team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2023. Kamara departed James Madison with 26.5 tackles for a loss and 13.5 sacks in his career.
