Former IU star Brian Evans joined The Ride with JMV on Wednesday to discuss Indiana’s loss at Rutgers, the state of the program under Mike Woodson, Xavier Johnson’s ejection, and much more. A native of Terre Haute, Ind., Evans played for IU from 1993-96 and is one of only 12 Hoosiers to win Big Ten Most Valuable Player honors in men’s basketball. The head coaches of two up-and-coming IU women’s programs both agreed to contract extensions on Friday. Coming off strong 2023 seasons and consistent improvement during their respective tenures, volleyball coach Steve Aird and women’s soccer coach Erwin van Bennekom both signed extensions through 2029, IU announced. There’s no other way to describe it.  Teams are hunting 3-pointers against Indiana. And to this point in the season, they haven’t been hard to find. As a percentage of total points allowed, IU gives up the 14th most points in the country from beyond the arc. And 42.9 percent of opposing field goal attempts have come from three.  Only 44 teams (out 0f 362) have allowed a higher rate of 3-point attempts as a percentage of total shots.
