Bellarmine transfer big man Langdon Hatton is in Bloomington for a visit, he announced Tuesday evening on his X account.
Hatton has been trending towards an IU commitment for a couple weeks, and this visit further points to that possible outcome. He’s expected to be on campus on an official visit for a couple days.
The 6-foot-10 and 240-pound Hatton started all 31 games for Bellarmine in 2023-24. He averaged 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds in 27.8 minutes per contest.
From Georgetown, Ind., Hatton shot 48 percent from the field, including 33.3 percent (15-of-45) from three. He added 24 blocks on the season.
After starting his career at William & Mary, Hatton has one year of eligibility remaining. If he chooses IU, the North Harrison H.S. product would give the Hoosiers some needed depth in the front court next season.
Of the 11 scholarship players currently on the roster, only three — Oumar Ballo, Malik Reneau, and Mackenzie Mgbako — would be expected to play the power forward and center positions. And Mgbako started at small forward when he was a freshman a year ago, and will likely do the same next season.
Hatton has received interest from other high majors, including Ohio State, Louisville, Clemson, and Minnesota.
