For the second time this season, the IU football staff has selected a starting quarterback.
Redshirt freshman Brendan Sorsby will start at Noon ET on Saturday when the Hoosiers host Rutgers. He warmed-up with the starters during pregame activities.
The 6-foot-3 and 230-pound Sorsby split snaps with Tayven Jackson in games one, two and six.
On the season, Sorsby is 30-of-58 passing (51.7 percent) for 294 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He’s also rushed 30 times for 81 yards.
The Denton, Texas product appeared in one game in 2022, making his collegiate debut against Penn State. He completed 3-of-6 passes for eight yards against the Nittany Lions.
