Indiana continues an impressive run of visitors in the class of 2024 this weekend when one of the top junior guards in the country spends the weekend in Bloomington.
New Jersey combo guard Dylan Harper will be in town for an official visit according to multiple reports.
Harper is the younger brother of former Rutgers star Ron Harper, Jr. and the son of former NBA star Ron Harper.
The 6-foot-5 Harper is a 5-star prospect, the No. 5 player in the 2024 class and the No. 1 combo guard according to the On3 Consensus. Playing for the New York Renaissance on the Nike EYBL Circuit, Harper averaged 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and five assists while advancing to the Peach Jam Finals.
The Indiana staff took multiple trips to Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey to visit Harper during the fall.
Led by assistant coach Yasir Rosemond, landing a visit from Harper means IU matters in this heavyweight fight.
“He (Rosemond) always texts me, he’s always playing around and stuff,” Harper told The Daily Hoosier. “That’s my guy. He texts me, he believes in me. He thinks I can do big things. That’s a great coaching staff.”
Harper took an official visit to Duke last month, and his brother’s alma mater and state school Rutgers is pushing hard as well.
The Daily Hoosier caught up with Harper at Peach Jam in South Carolina in late July:
