There’s a strong chance Malachi Moreno’s Sept. 20 visit to Indiana won’t happen.
The 7-foot Georgetown, Ky. based center will announce his college destination this Friday at 11 a.m. ET at his high school.
As we reported earlier this week, multiple national voices have suggested recently Moreno is likely to pick Kentucky. He grew up 30 minutes from Lexington and told The Daily Hoosier in a 2023 Kentucky was a dream school.
Moreno is scheduled to visit Indiana Sept. 20 along with AAU teammates Braylon Mullins and Trent Sisley. Last month Moreno told TDH that group visit was his idea, and called Mullins and Sisley brothers.
If Moreno ends up picking Kentucky as is expected, Indiana would then need to work to keep Mullins from following him to Lexington. Sisley is not being recruited by the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, the Hoosiers will focus their efforts on Eric Reibe when it comes to recruiting a class of 2025 center. Reibe is expected to announce more visits very soon, and Indiana has a good chance of bringing him on campus.
