The Sept. 23 weekend when IU football hosts Akron has become another popular one for basketball recruiting visits.
The visitor list in Bloomington that weekend will include Lawrence North H.S. (Indianapolis, Ind.) guard Azavier Robinson, according to Ethan Bock of the Portal Report. He took a visit to Notre Dame over this weekend, and also has trips to Illinois and Ohio State set.
The 6-foot-1 Robinson is expected to be one of the top players in the state of Indiana as a junior this season. He averaged 20.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.6 steals in 2022-23.
St. Johns, TCU, Oklahoma State, UCF, Notre Dame, Butler, Illinois, Arizona State and a host of mid-majors have offered Robinson. He’s ranked a 3-star and the No. 158 overall player in the class according to the On3 Industry Average.
Indiana has visited Robinson at his school, and he took a visit to Bloomington for a game during last season. He says he talks to several staff members at IU, with assistant coach Brian Walsh leading the way.
“They (Indiana) are just letting me know that they are watching me and motivating me to keep working hard,” Robinson told The Daily Hoosier when we caught up with him in June.
Joining Robinson the Sept. 23 weekend are additional visits we’ve previously reported here:
- Class of 2025 forward Trent Sisley
- Class of 2025 forward Aleks Alston
- Class of 2025 guard Braylon Mullins
