Drexel center Amari Williams will visit Indiana later this month.
According to a report by Joe Tipton of On3, the 6-foot-10 Williams will be on the IU campus April 19-20.
Williams will also visit St. John’s, Creighton and Florida over the course of that same week.
The Nottingham, England product led the CAA in blocked shots for the third straight season averaging 1.8 per game. Williams averaged 12.3 points per game and 7.8 rebounds this season, which was fifth in the league. He shot 52.1% from the field and 65.5% percent from the free throw line. Williams has not shot a lot of threes during his college career. He’s made 8-of-26 (31%) for his career.
Williams stands out in the analytics from several standpoints. He is top-70 nationally in fouls drawn per 40 minutes (No. 23, 6.8), block percentage (No. 39, 8.5%), defensive rebounding percentage (No. 28, 26.2%), offensive rebounding percentage (No. 64, 12.7%), and usage (No. 18, 31.8%).
Among players in the transfer portal who saw the floor for more than 50% of his team’s minutes, Williams ranks third overall in box score plus-minus (7.4).
Williams has played the last four years at Drexel and should have one year of eligibility remaining.
The timing of Williams’ IU visit overlaps with Stanford guard Kanaan Carlyle.
