Between the NFL Scouting Combine and the 2018 NFL Draft, NFL coaches and scouts have turned their attention to pro day workouts at the various schools. Indiana’s pro day is April 3.
These sessions are not as all-encompassing as the combine, but are important enough for the key decision-makers in the league to travel around the country for more than a month to watch the talent up close and in person.
The Hoosiers that will be participating in the event at IU will be the following 11 players:
- WR Simmie Cobbs
- LB Chris Covington
- S Chase Dutra
- CB Rashard Fant
- S Tony Fields
- DL Greg Gooch
- QB Richard Lagow
- DL Robert McCray
- K Griffin Oakes
- LB Tegray Scales
- TE Ian Thomas
Cobbs, Covington, Scales and Thomas participated in the combine last month. Fant was invited to the combine but suffered an injury and was unable to participate.
The players that appear the most likely to be selected in the NFL Draft at the end of April are Cobbs, Scales and Thomas. Even if a player is not drafted, they will still have the opportunity to sign with a NFL team as a free agent and make a team or practice squad during training camp and the preseason this summer.
