For the second time in program history, Indiana football will host ESPN College GameDay.
The vaunted pregame show is coming to Bloomington next Saturday, October 26, ahead of Indiana’s game against Washington at noon. ESPN and IU shared the news on social media Sunday morning. The Hoosiers (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten) could enter the top 15 — or higher — in the AP Poll after a dominant 56-7 win over Nebraska. Washington (4-3, 2-2) has taken a predictable step back this season, but is still a tricky opponent coming off a national championship game appearance.
The Hoosiers last hosted College GameDay in 2017, but that was a special version of GameDay. ESPN hosted that entire show from inside Memorial Stadium, ahead of Indiana’s season-opener against Ohio State, in the first game of Tom Allen’s tenure as head coach. This will be the first-ever traditional Saturday GameDay show in Bloomington.
This will give Lee Corso another opportunity to return to his former home. Corso coached the Hoosiers from 1973 to 1982, and finished with a 41-68-2 record with a 1979 Holiday Bowl victory. He’s served as an analyst on GameDay since 1987, with his “headgear” picks at the end of the show becoming highly-anticipated moments.
