The Daily Hoosier is live at the Nike EYBL in Emerson, Ga. for the first live period of the 2023 recruiting season.
Follow below for Friday night notes on IU prospects.
Indiana assistant coaches Kenya Hunter and Yasir Rosemond are here at the LakePoint Champions Center.
——————
Rosemond watched 2025 wing Caleb Wilson, who plays for the 2024 Georgia Stars. Indiana offered the Georgia-based product a year ago.
Rosemond and Kenya Hunter both watched 2025 Jacob Wilkins, who plays for the 2025 The Skills Factory. Wilkins is the son of NBA legend Dominique Wilkins. Indiana has not offered Wilkins to this point, but they’ve been in contact for a while now.
Fun matchup coming up involving 2024 Jaeden Mustaf of Boo Williams, and the 2024 Indy Heat. Mustaf put IU in his top five recently. The Indy Heat feature 2025 IU targets Jalen Haralson and Trent Sisley, along with 2024 Purdue commit Kanon Catchings.
Hunter now watching 2024 Liam McNeeley and his Florida Rebels 2024 squad.
Mustaf’s teammate Austin Swartz opening some eyes with his three point shooting. Might be a name to keep an eye on if he keeps making them.
Haralson and Mustaf have been matched up for most of this game. Both want to play the point at the next level. Both around 6-6, tough, physical guards.
Swartz stole the show with 29 points on 17 shots. I can tell you first hand he has the IU staff’s attention.
Kenya Hunter now watching 2024 Caleb Williams of Team Takeover. 2024s Dylan Harper and Tyler Betsey (New York Rens) about to tip on an adjacent court.
Assistant Brian Walsh at the Adidas event in Iowa along with recruiting director Jordan Hulls. Mike Woodson is unable to attend the April live periods after having knee surgery.
Caleb Williams probably won’t be a big time scorer or athlete at the next level, but plays with toughness and he’s a shot maker.
Hunter is watching Betsey and Harper now. It’s very easy to see why Harper is a 5-star. He plays at his own pace, gets to his spots, and isn’t bothered by contact. He’s a willing passer too. He’ll be able to take games over at the next level. Duke and Rutgers are the main competition and both of their head coaches are here.
Final games of the night with IU connections are 2024 Jonathan Powell with All Ohio Red, and 2025 Trey McKenney with 17u MeanStreets. They are playing on separate courts. Hunter is watching Powell right now.
Hunter has now made his way to the adjacent court to watch McKenney.
