When we caught up with Flory Bidunga last week, it didn’t sound good for Indiana.
Now it feels pretty safe to say the 6-foot-9 class of 2024 5-star center won’t be playing at IU.
A couple months ago Bidunga had an official visit set to Indiana that appeared to be his last before an early August decision. But last week he said he would only take additional visits “if he had time.” And this week Bidunga all but ended Indiana’s recruitment.
“No more visits, I’m done,” Bidunga told Rivals’ Rob Cassidy on Friday at an event in Las Vegas.
Based on the coaches we’ve seen watching the Kokomo H.S. product over the last month, it appears Duke, Kansas, Auburn and Michigan believe they have the best chance to land Bidunga.
With Indiana all but out of the Bidunga race, the Hoosiers will focus on their main two remaining 2024 center targets, Derik Queen and Patrick Ngongba.
A 5-star target, Queen is widely believed to be an Indiana vs. Maryland recruitment, although he’s said recently he’ll take visits to other schools this fall. The Montverde Academy product visited IU last September and could come back for a senior year visit.
A top-30 national prospect, Ngongba named a top-eight earlier this week. Indiana needs to get him on campus for a visit in order to be considered a serious contender for the Washington D.C. area product. He’s said recently he’s considering an official visit to IU.
