Former Indiana defensive tackle Larry Black Jr., now a defensive line coach at Toledo, will be working with the Cincinnati Bengals this summer through the Bill Walsh NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship program, according to a Bengals release.
In four seasons at Indiana from 2009-12, Black Jr. recorded 127 tackles including 27.5 for loss and eight sacks. He was signed by the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2013 but broke his leg in training camp. The Bengals kept him in the reserve/injured list that year before he was waived at the end of training camp in 2014. He began his coaching career as a defensive line coach at Carthage College in 2015, then spent two years as a graduate assistant at Toledo in 2016 and 2017 and then another year as a graduate assistant in Notre Dame in 2018. Toledo hired him as its defensive line coach in 2019.
