Former Indiana baseball coach Chris Lemonis led Mississippi State to its first ever NCAA baseball championship on Wednesday evening when the Bulldogs shut out defending champion Vanderbilt 9-0.
Lemonis coached at Indiana for four years from 2015-18 and led Indiana to the NCAA Tournament in three of those seasons. This is his third year in Mississippi State and he’s been to two College World Series twice. The year he didn’t make it was the year there was no series because the season was ended because of COVID-19. He has a 114-37 record with the Bulldogs after posting a 141-91-2 record with Indiana.
