Indiana’s all-time assist leader is going to give it another go in Slovenia.
Point guard Yogi Ferrell has re-signed with Cedevita Olimpija, a top Slovenian team he joined midseason in 2021.
The 29-year-old Ferrell averaged 15.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists, over 15 EuroCup games last season.
Ferrell arrived in Cedevita after a brief stint with Panathinaikos OPAP Athens where he started the 2021-22 season. Last season was his first experience playing overseas.
The 6-foot Ferrell won a pair of Big Ten titles (2013, 2016) at IU in connection with his freshman and senior seasons. He is Indiana’s all-time assist leader and first in three-pointers made in Big Ten games. Ferrell played in more games (137) at IU than anyone else.
Ferrell went undrafted in 2016 but played in the NBA for five seasons with five different teams. He appeared in 259 games and averaged 7.7 points, 2.3 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game while shooting 42 percent from the field.
