IU basketball is set to open preseason competition this evening.

In total, the Hoosiers will play scrimmage/exhibition games in four different venues and three different cities across the state of Indiana, and the three exhibitions will all be available to stream for those who can’t make it.

Tonight’s scrimmage in Bloomington is free to attend.

Indiana has intentionally scheduled the games this month to not overlap with IU football games.

Here’s the schedule for the October:

Friday, October 2 — Intrasquad scrimmage:  At Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, Bloomington, Ind.  Tips at 6 p.m. ET.  Free admission.  No streaming or television.

Sunday, October 11 — vs. Butler:  At Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Ind.  Tips at 6:30 p.m. ET.  Televised and streaming on WISH TV.

Sunday, October 18 — vs. North Carolina:  At Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Ind.  Tips at 5 p.m. ET.  Streamed on BTN Plus.

Sunday, October 25 — vs. Western Kentucky:  At Ford Center, Evansville, Ind.  Tips at 4 p.m. ET.  Streamed on BTN Plus.

The regular season begins one month from today on Nov. 2 when the Hoosiers host Eastern Illinois.  Tip-times and television information have not been released for the regular season.

    BIG TEN PLUS DISCOUNTS

While the regular season television/stream schedule has not been announced, IU typically has one or more men’s basketball games exclusively on BTN Plus, along with multiple women’s basketball games.

The network is offering discounts this season.

Ahead of the basketball season, B1G+ is introducing a limited-time offer where fans can purchase an Annual Pass for $49.99 with code B1GHOOPS. This offer is available through Oct. 31, 2026. Alongside the exhibition schedule, B1G+ offers access to stream nearly 3,000 more live events, next-day on-demand archives, 24/7 school-specific channels and BTN’s library of classic games and original programming.

Additionally, fans have the option to purchase a Winter Pass on B1G+ from now through Dec. 31, 2026, with a one-time payment of $44.99 to receive six months of access to B1G+. With the Winter Pass, fans will be able to watch every basketball exhibition along with regular season matchups and full seasons of all Big Ten winter sports from regular season through championships.
