Indiana class of 2019 commit Trayce Jackson-Davis and his Center Grove Trojans faced off last night at Southport High School against recruiting target Keion Brooks, Jr. and the La Lumiere Lakers.
Jackson-Davis and Brooks were teammates on the Nike EYBL AAU circuit for the Indy Heat.
The game also featured La Lumiere’s class of 2019 five star Isaiah Stewart, who after a slow start, took over in the 4th quarter, scoring 12 points in the game’s final segment. He is #33 for La Lumiere in the video below. While some have suggested that IU is still in the hunt for Stewart, we do not believe that is the case at this time.
Center Grove kept the game close for a while, but in the end, La Lumiere’s depth and overall talent was too much.
In addition to the higher profile names, there were two freshmen to know for IU recruiting purposes on the floor for each team as well.
Center Grove freshman Tayven Jackson (#2) is the younger brother of Jackson-Davis.
La Lumiere freshman Kamari Lands (#22) is one of the more highly regarded class of 2022 players in the state.
Scoring:
- Jackson-Davis: 18
- Brooks: 22
- Stewart 22
The game was attended by several noteworthy coaches included Archie Miller, Tom Izzo, Dane Fife and John Calipari.
Armaan Franklin played in the preceding game and stuck around to watch his future teammate(s). He led Cathedral to a win over Zionsville with 27 points. Franklin made five three-pointers in the 81-74 win.
Stewart was an absolute beast around the rim, especially in the 4th quarter.
Are there three future NBA players at the foul line here?
In the end, La Lumiere was too deep and talented and ran away with it late, 62-48.
