Former IU hurler Aaron Slegers recently joined the Turn a Pair podcast to relive his Indiana career and discuss his life as a professional pitcher.
A former walk-on turned fifth round MLB draft choice, Slegers helped Indiana win the 2013 Big Ten regular-season championship and the conference tournament. He was named the Big Ten Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Year after going 9-2 with a 2.04 ERA in 2013. Slegers had several strong outings as IU advanced to the 2013 College World Series.
The 6-foot-10 Slegers has bounced between the majors and AAA level each of the last three seasons in the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays organizations. He has appeared in 9 MLB games and pitched a total of 32 innings for his career.
