Listen as IU basketball legend Isiah Thomas reviews the 1981 championship team on the Run it Back podcast.
Thomas shares memories and experiences with that team, being coached by Bobby Knight, and his connection to the Indiana program today including his thoughts on head coach Mike Woodson.
At IU, Thomas started every game he played. He was a member and leader of two Indiana teams that won Big Ten Championships. During his second and final season at IU in 1980-81, Thomas led the Hoosiers in scoring and set a single-season school record for assists with 197.
In the 1981 national championship game, Thomas led all scorers with 23 points and was honored as the Outstanding Player.
