Former Indiana guard Steve Alford joined the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame podcast recently.
Alford discusses growing up the son of a coach, experiences in the New Castle (Ind.) Fieldhouse and memories of the community support for the New Castle Trojans during his high school career.
At IU Alford was the team MVP for four years, a 1986 and 1987 All-American, and a 1987 NCAA National Champion. He graduated as IU’s all-time leading scorer with 2,438 points, and the all-time leader in steals with 178.
