Watch as IU women’s basketball all-time leading scorer Mackenzie Holmes sat down with Miller Kopp on the Player’s Perspective podcast by Hoosiers Connect.
Holmes is in Bloomington for the 2024-25 season as a graduate manager.
The forward was drafted by the Seattle Storm in the third round of the WNBA Draft in April, and is aiming to return to the court in time for training camp next spring.
The Gorham, Maine native wrapped up an illustrious career with the Hoosiers in 2023-24. She broke Tyra Buss’ IU scoring record in February and finished with 2,530 career points. Holmes also became Indiana’s all-time winningest player, with 123 victories, and she set program records for field goals made and field-goal percentage as well.
She became IU’s first-ever Associated Press All-American in 2021 and its first-ever first-team All-American in 2023. In her final season in Bloomington, Holmes was a unanimous selection for All-Big Ten first team and all-conference defensive team, and earned second-team All-American honors from USWBA and a third-team nod from AP.
