Listen as former IU basketball star Dean Garrett joined A.J. Guyton on the House of Hoosier podcast.
Garrett joined the 1986-87 Hoosiers as a junior college transfer and started 33 games for the national champion squad.
In two seasons with IU, Garrett averaged 13.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3 blocks per contest. He was first team All-Big Ten in 1988.
The California native was selected in the second round, with the 38th overall pick of the 1988 NBA draft, but he didn’t play in the league until 1996 after a lengthy overseas career.
