We’ve seen this story play out multiple times this month.
Each of Myles Rice, Kanaan Carlyle and Oumar Ballo received Indiana predictions from respected national analysts ahead of their Bloomington visits. And then each announced their commitment to IU during or shortly after those visits.
Illinois transfer wing Luke Goode announced on Monday he was entering the transfer portal.
And already a national analyst has said Goode is likely to end up at Indiana.
Here’s what On3’s Jamie Shaw wrote on Tuesday:
“A source close to the recruitment has suggested watching for the Hoosiers in this one (Goode’s recruitment),” Shaw wrote. “Prediction: With the intel I have gathered, I have placed an RPM for Indiana here.”
Meanwhile, the 247Sports Indiana site is reporting Goode will visit Bloomington on Thursday and Friday of this week.
If Goode’s visit follows the course charted by the other portal prospects who have committed to IU, he could be Indiana’s 11th scholarship player by the end of the week.
The 6-foot-7 Goode is a career 38.8% percent three-point shooter, and he’s been even better against top competition. According to KenPom, he’s shot 41.2% from three against Tier A opponents for his career, including 42.9% (on 63 attempts) this year.
Goode ranked 86th in the nation in offensive rating (personal offensive efficiency) according to KenPom. According to data at Bart Torvik, Goode is the No. 81 ranked player to enter the transfer portal this spring based on his box score plus-minus of 3.8 (among players who have played 50% or more of available minutes). His points over a replacement player at the same usage is 2.0.
