Indiana has made a couple special teams additions to its 2024 roster.
Louisiana Monroe transfer kicker Derek McCormick (pictured above) announced on Friday he’s headed to Bloomington for his final year of eligibility.
In 2023, McCormick made 10 of 12 field goals. One of his misses was blocked, and two of his makes came from 50 yards out and beyond. He also made 16 of 17 extra points, with the lone miss blocked.
McCormick achieved touchbacks on 23 of his 37 kickoffs.
The 6-foot-3 and 215-pound McCormick earned CFN Third-Team All-Sun Belt honors this fall.
Indiana’s 2023 starting kicker Chris Freeman is in the transfer portal. The Hoosiers also have scholarship kicker Nicolas Radicic on the roster.
The Port Charlotte, Fla. product started his career at Ave Maria University.
Earlier in the week, Georgia Southern long snapper Mark Langston signed with the Hoosiers. IU must replace five-year starter Sean Wracher, who utilized all of his availability.
The Savannah, Georgia product spent the past three seasons at Georgia Southern after starting his career at Kennesaw State.
Langston made 22 starts as the snapper for Georgia Southern from 2021-22 with 210 snaps. He missed the 2023 campaign after suffering an ACL injury late in the 2022 season.
In 2022 he made 10 starts at snapper for punts, field goals, and extra points.
Langston has two year of eligibility remaining.
