A weekend outburst at the Nike EYBL in Westfield, Ind. appears to have been the final bit of convincing that Archie Miller needed as IU offered 2020 guard DJ Steward a scholarship on Sunday.
The Chicago area native announced the offer via Twitter this evening:

After watching Steward briefly on Friday night we remarked that he appeared to be a highly skilled player that would need to prove that he is elite at something.
He did that the remainder of the weekend — and the answer is that Steward is an elite scorer.
Steward had 29 and 37 point games on Saturday. The latter performance was the high mark of the day on the EYBL.
But Steward was just getting warmed up.
He capped off his weekend in the Hoosier state with a 46 point performance on Sunday, including this game-winner at the buzzer in double overtime.

Steward attends Whitney Young High School in Chicago.
The 6-foot-3 combo guard has a number of high major offers including Illinois, Iowa, Notre Dame, Florida, Xavier, Texas and Louisville.
Steward is currently ranked the No. 106 player in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 10 combo guard and the No. 3 player in Illinois according to that same service.
Playing for the Chicago based MeanStreets AAU program that also produced Armaan Franklin, Steward is presently sixth on the Nike EYBL with 25.9 points per game.
The four-star guard is shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from long range.
Steward is adding 5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2 steals per contest thus far this spring.
