The Indiana University men’s basketball team did not receive an invite to the National Invitational Tournament on Sunday night. Head coach Archie Miller has previously stated that the team will not play in any other post season play beyond the NIT or NCAA tournaments.
As we had previously described, the Hoosiers were considered a long shot to receive an at-large bid to the NIT field.
With that, the Hoosiers’ season is officially over. Indiana finished the year at 16-15 overall and 9-9 in Big Ten play. IU finished in sixth place in the Big Ten and lost their first Big Ten tournament game to Rutgers.
It is the first time since the 2013-14 season that Indiana did not compete in any post season tournaments after the Big Ten conference tournament.
