The ranking reflects the highest spot in the polls for IU since 1993. The Hoosiers started that season with a 7-1 mark.
It is the second straight season that Indiana made the top-25. Indiana made a one-week appearance in the AP-top-25 last November.
The 2019 national ranking ended a 25 year drought.
IU will travel to Rutgers on Saturday. The Scarlet Knights pulled off an upset of their own, defeating Michigan State in East Lansing.
Head coach Tom Allen was asked last night about Rutgers.
“We saw what Rutgers did today on the road, it got our attention, for sure,” Allen said. “It got our players attention.”
