Martin was widely expected to be drafted, but the fourth round selection was sooner than what most services had predicted. Although he was not invited to the NFL Combine, a strong showing at IU’s pro day might have contributed.
Hailing from West Milton, Ohio, Martin started the final 37 games of his career and made 43 overall starts. He is one of four Hoosiers to appear in 50 games.
Martin was a 24-time game captain, a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and a two-time honorable mention All-Big Ten selection.
The selection of Martin by the Redskins marks the sixth straight year that at least one Indiana player was taken in the NFL Draft.

Martin is the 13th Hoosier drafted by Redskins. Nate Sudfeld was the most recent in 2016.
He is the third IU offensive lineman drafted since 2016, following in the footsteps of Jason Spriggs and Dan Feeney.
