For the second year in a row, the IU football program will go without a spring game.
Head coach Tom Allen confirmed during a media availability on Wednesday afternoon that the program would conduct a closed scrimmage during its final spring practice on April 10, but there will be no traditional spring game open to the public.
Indiana did not have a spring game last year either. The 2020 spring game and most of Indiana’s 2020 spring practices were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Indiana also had a practice cancelled last week, and Allen confirmed on Wednesday that was due to COVID-19 concerns. The Hoosiers were back on the practice field over the weekend and intend to close out their full slate of remaining spring practices. Allen also said they will make up the practice session that was cancelled.
