According to the 247Sports Composite, Jackson is 17th ranked player in the class of 2020, and the top recruit in the state of Michigan. He has received offers from Michigan State, Louisville, UConn, and many others according to the recruiting service.
Jackson has been a rising star since the spring, and his ranking has followed his ascension. He played up on The Family U17 team this Spring and Summer. That team finished as a runner-up in the Peach Invitational Tournament.
Collectively on the Nike EYBL, Jackson averaged 8.1 points per game on 56.2% shooting from the field and 6.4 rebounds per game.
Multiple outlets refer to the long incoming junior as a strong defender with elite shot blocking ability.
Jackson is high school teammates with Rocket Watts, a 2019 Michigan player that IU has watched. The pair attends Old Redford Academy in Detroit.
