PREGAME UPDATES
The first update is that the game is DELAYED due to lightning in the area.
The message on the scoreboard reads as follows:
“There is severe weather in the immediate area that necessitates suspension of the event. For your safety, please calmly exit the seating area, return to your vehicle if it is in close proximity to Memorial Stadium, or follow the instructions of the event staff.”
A kick time of 8:35 is the current estimate according to IU.
New update from IU:
“Lightning has officially cleared the area.
The Memorial Stadium bowl is open & tailgating activities can resume.
Team warmups begin shortly.”
The teams are now on the field warming up at 7:35 p.m. Eastern.
Parker Hanna is warming up with first team offensive line. Tom Allen said all week he would start for Matthew Bedford at right tackle, and that appears to be the case. Bedford was lost for the season with a torn ACL.
INJURY NOTES
A few injury notes as the players make their way out on the field:
- Safety Devon Matthews is back in uniform after leaving the Illinois game with an undisclosed injury and not returning.
- Linebacker Cam Jones is in uniform and warming up. Left the Illinois game with a leg injury but returned to that game.
- Running back Trent Howland is back in uniform after missing week one.
- Safety Jonathan Haynes is out. He was second on the safety depth chart, so noteworthy.
- Defensive end James Head, Jr. is not in uniform. Appears set to miss his second straight game.
- More players out include: Richard Thomas, Jaquez Smith, Chris Bradberry, Ryan Miller, Randy Holtz and Brady Foley.
