The spotlight on Bloomington next weekend just grew a little brighter.
FOX will be bringing their Big Noon Kickoff tailgate show to Memorial Stadium in advance of the No. 18/20 Hoosiers’ matchup with Nebraska.
Big Noon Kickoff will set up outside the stadium next Saturday morning. The show provides a live preview of the day’s top games in college football plus detailed analysis of the game kicking off on-site at Noon on FOX. That’s IU and Nebraska next Saturday.
Rob Stone anchors the desk which includes former college football stars Mark Ingram II, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn, and three-time national champion coach Urban Meyer.
Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica provides viewers with gambling expertise with his ‘Bear’s Bets’ segment while reporters Bruce Feldman and Tom Rinaldi provide additional insight and exclusive interviews.
It’s a return trip for the broadcast team, which came to Indiana two years ago when the Hoosiers hosted Michigan. The show set up in front of the south end zone in 2022, and that’s where it will return Saturday.
On their website, FOX says the pregame tailgate typically starts at 8:30 a.m. ET. The fan pit opens when the Big Noon Kickoff pregame tailgate starts. Admission is free and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
They say if you want to increase your chances of being on TV and having a close-up spot to the stage in the fan pit, arrive before 8:30 a.m.
The show encourages students to bring their best signs to the event. The most creative sign will receive $500 along with other prizes for top signs. All signs brought to the show must abide by FOX Sports sign policies (have fun, but keep it clean).
Free food will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis once the pregame tailgate begins.
Big Noon Kickoff will air live on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET on FOX.
The pregame festivities are just part of a massive Homecoming weekend in Bloomington.
The fun starts on Friday, with the unveiling and dedication of the new John Mellencamp statue on the IU Bloomington campus. Mellencamp will attend the 1 p.m. ET event at the IU Auditorium North Garden.
The annual homecoming parade will start at 5:30 p.m. ET Friday at 13th Street and head down Woodlawn Avenue to 17th Street. Free parking is offered in IU Athletics lots for the parade.
Hoosier Hysteria is set for Oct. 18 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for IU men’s and women’s basketball. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the event starts at 7:30.
