What’s in your wallet?
From now on, make sure it contains a means other than cash to buy concessions, tickets and merchandise when you venture to IU sporting events in Bloomington.
IU Athletics announced today that it has completed its transition to cashless payments for all purchases at all IU athletic venues and shops, effective immediately.
According to the school, the move to cashless is designed to “improve the pre-game and gameday experiences for all Hoosier fans by reducing the amount of time that fans are waiting in lines, be it at a ticket window, concessions area, or merchandise stores/stands.”
Among the venues that are now cashless according to an IU Athletics release are Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall (including the Ticket Office), Memorial Stadium, Armstrong Stadium, Wilkinson Hall, Bart Kaufman Field, and Andy Mohr Field.
In addition to accepting all major credit cards, both Apple Pay and Google Pay will be accepted on gamedays at concessions locations and the IU Team Store for gameday apparel sales, the school says.
The Indiana Hoosiers Team Store locations at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall and the Carmichael Center, meanwhile, will also be exclusively cashless when they re-open later this summer.
