Coming off a weekend visit to Virginia, class of 2023 wing Jamie Kaiser announced a top-9 on Sunday.
Indiana made the cut and they are joined by Virginia, Miami, Boston College, Iowa, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Maryland, and Wisconsin.
While lists involving this many schools typically aren’t very significant, the real news that came out on Sunday relates to the timeline of Kaiser’s recruitment.
Kaiser told 336 Edits he plans to commit the last week of June.
When we spoke to Kaiser a couple weeks ago he said he had two of his five available official visits left for his junior year. In a report by 336 Edits, Kaiser also has visits set up with Maryland and West Virginia. According to other reports, the Maryland and West Virginia visits may be unofficial, so he still may still have two open spots for official visits, albeit now in a compressed timeframe.
Kaiser told The Daily Hoosier previously he was considering IU for one of those open spots.
The 6-foot-6 Burke, Va. product is the No. 77 ranked prospect in the class of 2023 according to 247Sports. He attends Bishop Ireton H.S. where he averaged 20 points and 7 rebounds. He has been one of the biggest risers this spring playing for New World on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
Kaiser also had offers from Creighton, Georgetown, Ohio State, TCU, VCU, Virginia Tech and others, but didn’t include them in his list.
