A 1-2 week in The Bahamas pushed IU basketball out of the national rankings.
If or when they’ll make it back is anyone’s guess at this point after the Hoosiers suffered a pair of blowout losses in the Battle 4 Atlantis.
In the new AP Top-25 released on Monday, Indiana dropped from to No. 14 to completely out of the poll. The Hoosiers (5-2) are still receiving a lot of votes, however, and stand effectively now at No. 31.
Purdue is the top-ranked team from the Big Ten at No. 8. Also ranked from the league are Wisconsin (No. 11), Oregon (No. 12), and Illinois (No. 19).
Michigan State, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Maryland, and UCLA are all also receiving votes.
Despite losing to Louisville by 28 points on a neutral court last week, the Hoosiers are still receiving more votes in the AP poll than the Cardinals.
In the new coaches poll the Hoosiers fell further. They are also still receiving votes from the coaches, but they are down to effectively No. 43 from No. 15 last week.
Michigan and Michigan State are also ranked in the top-25 from the Big Ten by the coaches, along with Purdue, Oregon, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Indiana returns to action on Tuesday evening against Sam Houston State in Bloomington (7:30 p.m., BTN).
