Indiana (16-13, 8-10) will next travel to Minnesota on Wednesday evening.
THREE KEYS TO THE GAME
1. Another massive second half rally. Much like their last road win at Ohio State, Indiana looked dead, down 51-35 with 17:51 left in the game. But the Hoosiers outscored Maryland 48-27 the rest of the way. Indiana made 19-of-26 shots (73.1 percent) in the second half led by an 18-point second half effort by Mackenzie Mgbako.
2. Threes and frees! No really! An issue that plagued Indiana all season was a major positive factor for the Hoosiers. IU made 7-of-16 (43.8 percent) from three and 14-of-17 (82.4 percent) from the free throw line. Mgbako was 4-of-8 from three and helped spark the IU second half rally. Malik Reneau and Mgbako were both a perfect 4-of-4 at the free throw line.
3. Xavier Johnson steadies the Hoosiers. Playing in his last game back in his hometown area, Xavier Johnson was a major positive factor for Indiana on both ends after coming off the bench. He scored 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, and added six assists and a steal against just one turnover in 31 minutes.
