Payton Sparks, we barely knew you.
After one season in Bloomington, the junior center has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.
In his lone season with IU, the 6-foot-9 Sparks average 2.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per contest. He shot 51.4% from the field overall, and 41.7% from the free throw line.
Sparks transferred to Indiana after two season at Ball State, where he earned second-team All-MAC honors as a sophomore.
Just over a year ago, Sparks was thrilled with the opportunity to play in Bloomington.
“IU was the dream school, and I just felt like it was the best fit overall, both on and off the court with academics and basketball, I feel like I fit in,” Sparks told TDH last March.
Sparks will have one season of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
