Indiana (7-3) returns to action on Tuesday when they host Morehead State.
THREE KEYS TO THE GAME
1. Kansas gets hot late. After struggling to make shots throughout the game, the Jayhawks caught fire late, making 11-of-16 shots at one point down the stretch to erase what was an eight point IU lead with 9:36 left. Kansas outscored IU 25-13 to close the game. IU made just 7-of-23 shots over the last 12:44.
2. Kel’el Ware struggles from the field. As has been a theme in all of IU’s three losses, center Kel’el Ware had a rough day from the field, making just 3-of-12 shots. He did grab 15 rebounds and forced Hunter Dickinson to earn his 17 points on 8-of-17 shooting, but Ware was not able to get anything going from a scoring standpoint.
3. Turnover and foul troubles. Indiana limited their offensive opportunities with 14 turnovers, and four Hoosiers saw their roles limited with at least four fouls. Mike Woodson clearly wanted to go with a tighter rotation, but four fouls on starters Malik Reneau and Mackenzie Mgbako made that challenging. And a third starter, Trey Galloway fouled out in the closing minutes.
