IU basketball’s first offer in the 2026 class goes to 6-foot-11 top-10 prospect Sam Funches.
The Mississippi product reported the offer on his social media pages.
According to the On3 Industry Average, Funches is the No. 10 overall player in the 2026 class and the top-ranked center.
Funches attends Germantown H.S. in Madison, Mississippi. As a high school freshman he averaged 17 pts 10 rebounds and five blocks per game.
The left-handed big man can play on the block, but also has touch on his jump shot, with range that extends out to the arc.

With his length and skill, Funches is on the radar of most high major programs. His offers so far include Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Creighton, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.
