The wait is almost over.
Class of 2021 forward Trey Kaufman will announce his commitment on Oct. 30.
The reigning Indiana Gatorade player of the year broke the news on his Instagram page.
The 6-foot-8 Sellersburg, Ind. product announced his top five schools in early September, naming Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, Purdue and Indiana State.
Kaufman averaged 25.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.1 steals per contest for Silver Creek High School. Kaufman helped lead the Dragons to a 25-2 mark before the season was interrupted. He shot 64 percent from the floor overall, including 40 percent from three-point range.
Kaufman is currently ranked No. 41 nationally according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 12 power forward and the No. 2 player in the state of Indiana according to that same service.
Indiana currently has one verbal commitment in the class of 2021 — Cincinnati center Logan Duncomb. Kaufman and Duncomb were AAU teammates. Current IU freshman guard Khristian Lander was in the class of 2021 before reclassifying.
