When it comes to recruiting forwards, Indiana appears to have a clear preference for long and versatile players that can put the ball on the floor and score inside and out.
One of the more recent players to emerge on IU’s radar fits that description.
Class of 2022 forward Braden Huff has mentioned interest from Indiana in several recent reports by recruiting sites Rivals and 247Sports.
Hailing from Glenbard West High School in suburban Chicago, Huff had a highly productive sophomore campaign.
A 6-foot-9 and 200 pound lefty that can square up on the perimeter and score in multiple ways, Huff averaged 15.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 2.5 assists per game for the Hilltoppers.
Perhaps best described as a combo forward, Huff is a good athlete with a great looking perimeter shot. He uses his length to be disruptive in multiple ways on the defensive end.
For AAU, Huff plays for the Illinois Wolves program on the Under Armour circuit.
Huff is not yet ranked by the major recruiting sites, but that appears certain to change when they publish their next round of updates.
To this point Huff has offers from Wisconsin, Creighton, Northwestern, and Virginia Tech. Several other high major programs are showing interest along with IU including Purdue, Ohio State and DePaul.
Huff’s sophomore season highlights are below.
