June 15 was the first day that coaches could directly contact class of 2022 recruits. Our “Names to Know” series provides a quick look at IU basketball recruiting targets as their names emerge on the trail.
De’Ante Green is a power forward from North Carolina.
Indiana’s interest in Green emerged this week when Patrick O’Brien of Phenom Hoops tweeted about schools that made direct contact.
The IU staff reached out on Monday.
2022 De'Ante Green @DeAnteGreen35 informed @Phenom_Hoops that he heard from Charlotte, DePaul, Elon, Virginia, Wake Forest, Xavier, ECU, Cincinnati, GT, NC State, NC A&T, Auburn, Tulsa, Air Force, App State, and Indiana. #PhenomHoops pic.twitter.com/diSdyAHW99

Playing for Christ School in Arden, N.C., Green averaged a team-high 14.8 points per game to go along with 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the 2019-20 season.
The 6-foot-9 Green can score in the paint, but he is also a competent three-point shooter that runs the floor and can score off the bounce.
Green made 53 percent of his field goal attempts overall including 35 percent from long range.
For AAU basketball, Green plays for CP3 on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Green’s early offers are from Ole Miss, DePaul, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, Tennessee, NC State and others. He is ranked as the No. 82 player in the 2022 class by Rivals, and Green is not yet ranked by 247Sports.
Indiana assistant coach Mike Roberts has most of the relationships and does most of the recruiting in the North Carolina area.
