Indiana has been spending a lot of time, virtually anyway, in the backyard of the University of Virginia.
The Hoosiers offered a scholarship to class of 2022 Charlottesville wing Justin Taylor a few weeks ago, and they are taking a close look at his high school teammate too.
St. Anne’s Belfield School sophomore forward Carter Lang had an impressive freshman season that caught IU’s attention.
Lang’s school first reported Indiana’s interest back in July.
As a freshman, Lang averaged 12 points and 9.1 rebounds and 1 block per game in just over 18 minutes per contest. Lang shot 63 percent from the field overall and made 3 of 10 attempts from behind the arc.
The 6-foot-8 Lang is powerful for his age. The lefty can score in the paint with either hand, make jump shots and he runs the floor well.
For AAU basketball, Lang plays for Team Loaded on the Adidas circuit.
Rankings are not yet available for the class of 2023.
Lang has offers from Old Dominion and Virginia Tech thus far. He has interest from several other mid and high major programs beyond Indiana.

Lang’s freshman season highlights are below. He is No. 35. Watch for Taylor (No. 5) as well.
