The Indiana basketball program had a visitor over the weekend.
6-foot-6 class of 2024 wing Anthony Gilkes was on campus his trainer reported on Twitter.
While he calls Queens, New York (Jamaica) home, Gilkes attends IMG Academy in Florida. He was teammates with IU freshman guard Tamar Bates last year.
Indiana assistant coach Yasir Rosemond is leading the way on this recruitment.
On film Gilkes looks like the long, positionless, versatile player the IU staff prioritizes. The skilled wing could likely develop into anything from a shooting guard to a stretch four if he keeps growing.
Gilkes was recently ranked No. 31 overall on Rivals’ 2024 rankings.
Gilkes has an offer from LSU and is also being recruited by several other schools including Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Murray State, Wichita State, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Georgia and Florida State.
Here are several quick clips from his visit (Hit the arrow button to advance to new videos).

Here are some quick highlights. As a freshman on a national prep team, Gilkes’ role was fairly limited in 2020-21.
