Indianapolis’ northeast side Division One basketball factory has placed another prospect on the IU radar.
Class of 2025 guard Azavier Robinson will take an unofficial visit to IU on Tuesday when the Hoosiers take on Elon according to a national report by Rivals. Robinson was a teammate last year of IU freshman guard C.J. Gunn at Lawrence North H.S., and he is now emerging as a young leader of that program.
The 6-foot-1 Robinson posted 28 points and 15 rebounds against cross-town rival Lawrence Central earlier this month. He’s averaging 21.6 points per game through the first five contests of his sophomore season.
Robinson can score at all three levels, but at this point his calling card is his ability to get downhill and finish at the rim, along with motor that never seems to stop. He produces impressive rebound totals from his point guard position.
Indiana has not offered Robinson at this point, but he’s been on their radar for a while. With assistant coach Brian Walsh leading the way, IU went to Lawrence North to visit Robinson during the fall.
Robinson told Rivals he has previously visited Purdue. His lone Division One offer appears to be IUPUI at this point, but that list should begin to expand as Robinson is now demonstrating his ability to be a highly productive player as the focal point of a team.
For spring and summer basketball, Robinson has played with the George Hill All Indy program.
