Indiana continues to focus on productive wings coming out of the first recruiting live period.
The Hoosiers have now offered three players over the weekend, and all three had highly efficient offensive performances at the Nike EYBL event in Georgia.
The latest to get an offer from IU is Miami, Fla. based 2024 small forward Marcus Allen.
Allen reported the offer on his Instagram page.
The 6-foot-7 Allen, a versatile wing, attends AZ Compass Prep and played a national schedule in the NIBC for high school. He attended Norland H.S. in Miami prior to transferring.
For AAU, Allen plays for the Florida Rebels on the Nike EYBL circuit. He is teammates with fellow IU target Liam McNeeley. IU assistants Kenya Hunter and Yasir Rosemond watched their team play throughout the weekend.
Allen averaged 11.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in four games with the Rebels over the weekend. He shot 56.7 percent from the field overall, including 50 percent (2-of-4 from three). Allen was also a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line and had nine assists against just one turnover.
According to the On3 Consensus, Allen is a 4-star prospect, the No. 44 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 13 shooting guard. He’s also known as one of the better defenders in the class and is reported to have a 6-foot-11 wingspan. He has compared his game to former IU star OG Anunoby.
Allen is good way down the path in his recruitment. Some of the main schools involved have been Miami, Arkansas, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Stanford and Villanova. He’s visited Miami and Missouri so far.
