Indiana has offered class of 2025 forward Preston Copeland.
The North Carolina product announced the offer on his Twitter page on Sunday evening. He was in Indiana over the weekend for the Crossroads Elite camp.
The 6-foot-8 Copeland attends Raleigh Christian H.S. in Raleigh, N.C.
Copeland is the brother of former Nebraska player Isaac Copeland, who averaged 12.9 points per game in 2017-18 and 14 points per game in 2018-19 for the Huskers.
There’s a link to the Copeland family and the IU staff. Isaac transferred after three years at Georgetown to attend Nebraska, where he played for IU assistant coach Kenya Hunter, who was an assistant at both of those programs.
Preston plays spring and summer basketball for the Garner Road program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. That’s a program Hunter is connected to as well. 2024 IU target Rakease Passmore has played for that program too.
Indiana joins Georgetown and Nebraska as the high major programs that have offered Copeland to this point. He also got an offer from Xavier on Monday.
Copeland does not appear in the early rankings for the class of 2025, and there’s not much in the way of video out there thus far. As is typically the case, now that the high major offers are coming in, look for Copeland to enter all of the national rankings.
