Class of 2028 guard Antoine Caughman is an early name to know for IU basketball among rising juniors.
Indiana offered Caughman a scholarship in late May. They were one of the first high majors to enter the mix.
The 6-foot-5 Caughman is from Columbia, S.C. and attends Keenan H.S. As a high school sophomore, he averaged a team-high 15.5 points per game to go with 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest. His shooting splits were 44% overall, 29% from three, and 75% from the free throw line.
Based on the average of the national recruiting sites, Caughman is a 4-star, the No. 58 overall player in the class, and the No. 19 shooting guard.
On film Caughman looks like a classic slashing wing with great length and athleticism. And his game — and profile — is expanding.
For travel basketball, Caughman plays for Upward Stars on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, and he appears to be in the midst of a major rise on the national radar. Through eight games he has posted 21.3 points per contest while shooting 47.2% overall, 42.2% from three and 78.8% at the stripe. He has added 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.
In addition to IU, Caughman has Power 4 offers from Ole Miss, UCLA, and California thus far.
