Westfield, Ind. — The Daily Hoosier is at the Nike EYBL this weekend catching up with various IU basketball recruiting targets.
Here are a some quick notes from the event. Check back for more updates.
IU had three coaches watching class of 2025 4-star guard Kiyan Anthony on Saturday morning, including head coach Mike Woodson. Kiyan is the son of NBA great Carmelo Anthony, who played for Woodson with the New York Knicks. Kiyan told the media he doesn’t plan to take visits until after summer basketball in July. He says Indiana is a school he plans to visit.
Class of 2025 5-star guard Jalen Haralson told The Daily Hoosier he wants to take several visits in the late summer and into the fall. He’s planning a fall decision. Indiana remains one of his top schools under consideration. Haralson said he spoke recently with former IU guard Jalen Hood-Schifino. He says he sees a lot of similarities in their games. We’ll post a full Q&A with Haralson in the next day or two.
Class of 2025 top-25 wing Darius Adams is a teammate of Haralson at La Lumiere. He told The Daily Hoosier Indiana is one of the schools he’s taking a close look at. Adams has not put out a top schools list or scheduled visits to this point. That will come after summer basketball in July. We’ll have a bit more from Adams in the next few days.
Chicago-based class of 2025 forward Aleks Alston is on a similar timeline as the others, with visits and list cuts coming later in the summer. Led by assistant coach Yasir Rosemond, Alston is hearing from IU on a regular basis.
Texas-based 2025 guard Hudson Greer’s recruitment is growing rapidly. with Duke and Kentucky involved. He has been in communication with IU for over a year. Greer says Indiana hasn’t offered to this point but are still actively communicating.
2025 Michigan-based 5-star guard Trey McKenney says Indiana is still in regular contact. That’s been the case for several years at this point. McKenney plans to narrow down his recruitment in the next few weeks with a top schools list, probably in the neighborhood of 7-10 schools. Look for IU to remain in the mix.
IU head coach Mike Woodson made it to all three major shoe circuits (Adidas – Texas, Nike – Indiana, Under Armour – Ohio) in a 24-hour period. Collectively, the IU staff has seen most of their main class of 2025 targets. They saw all of the players mentioned above. Here are others they watched this weekend:
