And then there were two.
Just a week before he is set to announce his college decision, top-30 class of 2022 combo guard Jalen Hood-Schifino has made another list cut.
According to a report by Joe Tipton of On3, Hood-Schifino has reduced his list from five to two schools and will now announce a decision between Tennessee and Indiana.
The 6-foot-5 Hood-Schifino visited both schools in June. He will announce his decision on August 24.
Hood-Schifino is ranked No. 24 nationally in the 2022 class by the 247Sports Composite.
The latest list cut means Memphis, Texas and Florida are no longer possible destinations.
While we typically don’t monitor predictions, it is at least worth noting that two Rivals national analysts, Jamie Shaw and Rob Cassidy, have put in forecasts predicting Hood-Schifino to Indiana in the last 24 hours. Shaw is someone who has interviewed Hood-Schifino on multiple occasions.
Indiana head coach Mike Woodson and assistant Kenya Hunter have been leading the way on Hood-Schifino’s recruitment.
He recently spoke of the two IU coaches with 247Sports national analyst Eric Bossi.
”Coach Hunter has been recruiting me the longest, so the relationship is there,” he told Bossi. “He’s great. And Coach Woodson has been where I’m trying to go. Coach Woodson has had great success in the NBA. I can’t wait to see his transition on the college level.”
Indiana offered Hood-Schifino a year ago, and Hunter was involved during the Archie Miller tenure.
